Behold The Lamb of God

Gather Round Ye Children
Andrew Peterson

Gather 'round, ye children, come
Listen to the old, old story
Of the power of death undone
By an infant born of glory
Son of God, Son of Man
Gather round, remember now
How creation held its breath
How it let out a sigh
And it filled up the sky with the angels
Son of God, Son of Man

So sing out with joy for the brave little boy
Who was God, but he made himself nothing
Well he gave up his pride and he came here to die
Like a man
Therefore God exalted him
To the place of highest praises
And he gave him a name above every name
That at the very name of Jesus, Son of God

We would sing out with joy for the brave little boy
Who was God, but he made himself nothing
Well he gave up his pride and he came here to die
Like a man
So in heav'n and earth and below
Every knee would bow and worship
And ev'ry tongue would proclaim
That Jesus, He reigns with the angels

So sing out with joy for the brave little boy
Who was God but he made himself nothing
Well he gave up his pride and he came here to die
Like a man
So gather 'round, ye children come
Listen to the old, old story
Of the power of death undone
By an infant born of glory
Son of God, Son of Man

December Time

Well 2010 is on the way out and I can hardly believe another year has gone by...

The Christmas season is a wonderful time and it is so special to see our own children celebrating. Nathan has been very excited to read lots of Christmas stories including THE Christmas Story, The Animals Christmas Eve, and 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. So far, his favorite Christmas character is the donkey that carried Mary to Bethlehem. He calls him the "Donk" and gets extra excited when we get to his picture on the page. He has also loved this Fisher Price Nativity set that Aunt Teenz sent him (which conveniently has a "Donk" too!) He can actually pick up the characters in the Nativity and we talk about them and he gets to maybe grasp a little more of the story. He has decided that the basket of food that rides in the back of the cart in the Nativity should be for Lawson. So, he always makes sure Lawson has his food basket to "play" with. Ha!

Phillip has finally finished all of his class work and is now officially ABD (All But Dissertation). He is hoping to get some more writing done over the Christmas break and then steadily on throughout the spring. He has also just been asked to take a new job at the seminary. As of January 1, he will become the Executive Assistant to the Academic Vice President and Dean of the School of Theology (Dr. Russell Moore). We are excited about his new opportunity and he will have a wonderfully gracious boss whom we love dearly.

Lawson just turned 6 months old on the 13th and is looking great. His stats are:

Weight: 19 lbs 6.5 oz
Length: 27 1/2 in
Head Circumference: 17 3/4 in

He's dropped a bit from the 95% to between 75-90%...but nevertheless is still a chart topper. He's really starting to push up more and we've even seen him get on his knees and forearms so it might not be too long before he gets the urge to crawl. He and Nathan have started interacting a lot more and are starting to have some brother fun which I'm sure will only increase as Lawson grows.

Merry Christmas Y'all!
