We're going to Jackson...

Last weekend we had the pleasure to go to Jackson, TN for a few festivities related to the wedding of Julie Holzer and Ben Dockery. We had a fantastic time and so I decided to post some pictures of our fun...

Ben's tool shower, where he learned from us the only real tool he needs is love...

Practicing a funny family portrait where Phillip is trying out his "dad face." Kyle you might should spend some time in front of the mirror working on your '"dad face" too...

The girls at Julie's tea...

Blue Bell in the Bluegrass State?

Tonight we discovered some interesting billboards on the interstates around town. Here's what it says:

Dear Blue Bell

I love your ice cream but I can't find it in Louisville. Help!

Sam Schramm

Now, I don't know who Sam Schramm is or why he chose to rent billboards in Louisville about Blue Bell ice cream, but it made us hopeful of what might be coming. So I came home and did some research (i.e. googling info) and I discovered that there were job postings listed for drivers and managers for Blue Bell Creameries at a branch in Louisville KY! All signs seem to point to something good here and that good comes in the form of Moo-llenium Crunch, Cookies and Cream, and Pistachio Almond!

Blue Bell if you're out there and you're reading this...bring on the ice cream!

Sam Schramm we don't know who you are but we like you're style...

And finally I would like everyone to reminisce and start singing "Blue Bell homemade ice cream--it's homemade country style and Blue Bell it's better by a country smile."

We've Been AsSALTed!

Here at the seminary apartments the landscape crew is so gracious to put salt on our steps so we won't slip. But, let me tell you they go a bit overboard with the salt. We have pellets creeping in all the way to our kitchen and I think I spotted some in our bedroom today! These things are impossible not to track in because they are just the right size to get caught in any traction device on the bottom of your shoes. Just when I think I've gotten them all out of the carpet one sneaky one appears right by the rug. Arrrrgggh! I think this Salt Removal will be a full-time winter job for me.

Just call us the Morton's because we have enough salt for our steps, for our food, and even enough to make a good batch of homemade ice cream!

We got a call about 10:30 this morning from our friends the McDonalds. They proposed that since we had an accumulation of snow overnight that we should go sleddin'. We agreed and it was a go. Our sleds of choice were 2 tops to those big plastic storage bins and they were awesome. So without further ado, here's the photo footage:

Phillip going down surfing style

Brett near the bottom of the hill about to wipe out--those jeans were wet!

Helen with the Maroon Monster sled

Cami with the patented Texas sidewinder sled

And finally Phillip with the No-Fear Sled--head first!

We capped off the morning with some homemade hot chocolate and sandwiches at the McDonalds. So much fun!!!
